Basking in the glory
Yesterday was one of those days I stood in the house after everyone had gone to bed and just enjoyed the silence and enjoyed being the head of the household. I just basked in the glory of the Lord and knew that yesterday had been a good day -- full of joy and life in the house.
Today, I prayed for grace and wisdom in every situation encountered. There were SO MANY mishaps. I dropped my make-up foundation bottle and it cracked in a million pieces and put foundation all over the bath mat and the floor and also my pants. Had to clean that up in a rush. Then certain things people were doing or saying were just driving me up the wall, but God gave the grace to keep my mouth shut and let my anger subside. Then while baking a cake tonight in a springform pan, the cake began to drip out of the springform into the oven. What a mess! But through it all, I was thankful to God for providing me with the grace to stand through these things that could have really discouraged me. It was frustrating, yes, but I didn't let it ruin my day.
The best part of today was to see a rainbow in the spotted gray and red sky. The rainbow arched the entire sky and seemed to be right over our house. It was almost as if God were saying that His favor is resting upon this house.
I am satisfied.
